FT - ASSISTANT DESIGNER / DEVELOPMENT


LW - C is a condensed team of 12 people working closely to excel the brand. We pride ourselves in producing our garments with family-owned factories just ten miles from our design headquarters in Los Angeles. Our insistence on maintaining a close rapport with suppliers yields one-of-a-kind products composed of domestic cotton. The entire process has gained us a reputation for quality and consistency. We seek an Assistant Designer / Development to carry and communicate the same ethos of care, enthusiasm, and commitment.

 

Roles and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)
  • Support the designer in developing styles and following through to production handoff.
  • Produce clear and detailed tech packs to support development across pattern making, product development and production, ensuring all documentation is updated throughout the process
  • Coordinate samples and pre production samples according to the collection timeline
  • managing fittings and communicating with production team
  • Support daily communication with manufacturers and suppliers regarding samples, materials, and delivery timelines
  • Assist in managing the development critical path, ensuring timelines are followed
  • Work proactively to secure target raw material costs for all seasonal products
  • Keep designer continuously updated on style development and design details to ensure an efficient and proactive development process
Qualifications 
    • Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
    • Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrication and development
      • Appreciation for craftsmanship, quality and attention to detail
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
      • Creative problem solver with an analytical and methodical approach
      • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing changing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
      • Exceptional technical sketching ability Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
      • Strong organizational and time management skills
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present ideas effectively
