Description

The Municipal T-shirt is our slightly boxy t-shirt with a set-in collar. Milled from North Carolina cotton, the yarn is knit into a dry, midweight six-ounce carded jersey that has a crisp hand that breaks in after many washes.
Oak gall is a tannin-rich substance that, when combined with iron, oxidizes in a dye bath, yielding nuanced and textured hues. This pre-industrial technique was important to the development of garment dyeing practices. Hand-dyed by multidisciplinary artist Noah Schneiderman.

Materials

Our signature, standard six-ounce carded jersey has a crisp hand that softens after many washes. The weight is ideal for layering or standalone wear.

This garment is pigment dyed, which produces variations in tone, depth, and hue. The dye sits closer to the surface of the textile than garment-dyed clothing. We recommend washing this garment alone before wear. For best results, wash inside out in cold water and lay flat to dry. Hung on a drying rack is also preferred. Garment suitable for dry cleaning or a low tumble dry.

Fit & Sizing

A boxy, straight fit with slightly relaxed proportions through the shoulders, across the chest, and down the body. Neckline sits high and tight with a comfortable, snug grip. Cut with a shorter length, but not as short as the LW101 “Our T-shirt.” We recommend taking your normal size, and sizing up for a more relaxed fit with a dropped shoulder.
